What is Simple Affiliate?

Simple Affiliate runs an affiliate program inside your own Shopify store. Affiliates sign in with your store's regular Shopify customer accounts, share referral links or discount codes, and earn commission on the orders attributed to them. There's no third-party network in the middle, so affiliate access, referral tracking, commissions, and support expectations all live in one place, attached to your store.

Where affiliates sign in and work

The affiliate dashboard's location depends on your customer-account setup. Stores on new customer accounts show it inside Shopify's customer-account area. Stores on classic customer accounts get a branded dashboard page on the theme, such as /pages/simple-affiliate. Either way, affiliates use the same credentials they'd use as customers, and they review their referral activity right there.

Links, codes, and connected customers

Referral links carry a tracking code such as sacode, with optional UTM parameters when you want campaign context. Where configured, unique discount codes identify referred orders instead. On the Pro plan, a customer can also stay connected to the referring affiliate after their first referred purchase, when that feature is enabled.

Attribution isn't magic. It depends on the method being used as intended: the customer follows the affiliate's link or applies their discount code, and the order meets your configured program rules. Tell affiliates and customers exactly that.

What's yours to decide

You structure the program: which affiliates and groups exist, which referral methods they get, and the commission rules your plan supports. Simple Affiliate records referral activity against the tracking information available; defining commission terms and explaining them to affiliates is your job.

Affiliates get the full commission on an attributed order. If you use Autopay, the applicable processing fee lands on your bill, on top of the commission, never deducted from theirs.
