How do affiliates sign in?
Affiliates register and sign in using your Shopify storefront customer accounts. Simple Affiliate does not create a separate Simple Affiliate login, so you can direct affiliates to use the same customer-account credentials they use for your store. The dashboard location depends on whether your store uses new or classic Shopify customer accounts.
How affiliate sign-in works
When an affiliate registers, Simple Affiliate associates the affiliate account with the Shopify customer account used for registration. Affiliates then sign in through the customer-account experience available on your storefront.
This keeps the affiliate experience on your store’s domain and gives you one account system to explain when affiliates need help. Set the expectation that an affiliate does not need a separate username or password for Simple Affiliate.
Where affiliates access the dashboard
- New customer accounts: The affiliate dashboard appears in the Shopify customer-account area. Affiliates sign in through the customer account experience provided by Shopify and access their affiliate information there.
- Classic customer accounts: Simple Affiliate provides a branded dashboard page on your theme. The page can use a path such as
/pages/simple-affiliate, depending on your store configuration.
The dashboard location is therefore determined by your Shopify customer-account setup, not by a separate Simple Affiliate login page.
What to tell affiliates
When you invite an affiliate, explain which customer-account experience your store uses and direct them to sign in through your storefront. If they are unsure where to go, check whether your store uses new or classic customer accounts before giving instructions.
- Account credentials: Affiliates use their Shopify storefront customer-account credentials.
- Dashboard location: New customer accounts use the Shopify customer-account area; classic accounts use the branded dashboard page on your theme.
- Store domain: The affiliate experience remains on your store’s domain.
- Separate login: Affiliates do not create or manage a separate Simple Affiliate login.
