Can I set commissions per product or collection?

Yes, on the Pro plan and above. You set a default commission for the program, then override it for specific products, variants, or collections. Margins differ across a catalog; commission rates can too, and affiliates see an accurate rate for whatever they're promoting.

How overrides work

The default rule covers everything you haven't touched. Overrides handle the exceptions:

  • Lower-margin products that need a reduced rate.
  • Hero products that can carry a higher commission to encourage promotion.
  • Groups of products that share one rule through collection membership.
  • Variants that need different treatment from the product's general setting.

Setup is short. Set the program default, choose the products, variants, or collections that need a different rate, apply the rule, and review everything before affiliates start promoting. Keep your affiliate-facing terms aligned with what's configured: Simple Affiliate applies the exceptions you define, and deciding which products deserve one is your call.

Different rules for different affiliates

Commission rules can also vary by group. Put affiliates into groups when partners have different commercial agreements, audiences, or promotional responsibilities, and give each group its own commission rules. Product, variant, and collection overrides can run alongside group-based settings where your plan configuration supports it.

Plan availability

Pro adds product-specific commissions covering products, variants, and collections. Premium includes the Pro commission features plus product attribution and the rest of the Premium set. From Basic up there are no Starter-style limits on affiliates, groups, or links, so program size won't be the constraint.
