FAQ: How to Uninstall Simple Affiliate and stop billing
If you need to close your affiliate program or move to a different solution, you can cancel your subscription by removing the app from your Shopify store.
Uninstalling Simple Affiliate from your Shopify Admin automatically cancels your subscription and stops all future billing.
How to Uninstall and Cancel
The entire process is managed directly within your Shopify account settings:

Navigate to Settings: From your Shopify Admin, go to Settings > Apps and sales channels.

Locate the App: Find Simple Affiliate in your list of installed apps.

Uninstall: Click the Uninstall button next to the app name.

Confirm: Follow the Shopify prompts to confirm the removal.
What Happens to Your Data After You Uninstall
An uninstall does not delete your data at once. Simple Affiliate erases nothing for 28 days after you uninstall. This is within the 30 days that Shopify gives Simple Affiliate after its data erasure request, which Shopify sends about 48 hours after the uninstall.
28 days after the uninstall, Simple Affiliate replaces these details of each affiliate with anonymous values:

Contact details: the name, email and phone number.

Profile details: the nickname and birth year.

Manual payout details: the payment information and the account, routing and SWIFT numbers.
Simple Affiliate keeps the other data of your store, and no automatic expiry applies to it:

Affiliate data: the Shopify customer email and default address, the PayPal payout email, the Stripe account with the bank name and the last four digits of the bank account, the Instagram and TikTok profiles, the custom field values and your notes.

Customer data: the name, email and phone number of the customer of each referral order, and the name and email of each customer linked to an affiliate.

Store records: your groups, referrals, payouts and media library files.
Simple Affiliate erases only a store whose uninstall it recorded. It does not record the uninstall of a store that it had no access to through Shopify for 7 or more days before it. An example is a store that Shopify froze. In that case, Simple Affiliate erases nothing.

If You Reinstall Simple Affiliate

Reinstall within 28 days: install and open Simple Affiliate again within 28 days, and it erases nothing, so your data is unchanged.

Reinstall after 28 days: Simple Affiliate reads the name of each affiliate again from your Shopify customer at its next 14-day customer check, or when the customer record changes in Shopify. The affiliate email comes back only when the customer record changes in Shopify. The phone number, nickname, birth year and manual payout details stay erased. Your referral and payout records stay.

Erased affiliates stay marked as erased: after a reinstall, Simple Affiliate sends them no emails and sends no Klaviyo or Shopify Flow events for them. It also does not match them across linked stores. This rule applies also after their names and emails come back.

Plan and discount codes: every reinstall puts your store on the Starter plan. The next health check then turns off the discount codes of each group. An upgrade does not turn them on again. After you upgrade to the Pro plan or higher, turn them on again in the discount settings of each group.
Important Rules to Remember

Immediate Billing Stop: Your subscription is canceled the moment the app is removed. You will not be charged for any future billing cycles.

Tracking Termination: All active referral links will stop working immediately. No new commissions will be tracked once the app is deleted.

Loss of Affiliate Access: Your affiliates will lose access to their dashboards and will no longer be able to view their stats or payment history.

Data Erasure: Simple Affiliate erases only the affiliate details listed above, 28 days after the uninstall. It keeps the other data of your store, and a reinstall after that can restore the affiliate names and emails from Shopify.
